With the current state of affairs exhausting all our mental bandwidth, it's absolutely fair enough if you've left your Mother's Day shopping and gift-hunting until the last minute.
But with online shopping overwhelmed and Australia Post suspending its promise of express delivery, it may be a tad too late to find the perfect gift online. If you're currently floating in this uncomfortable boat, we have a suggestion.
Introducing The Calmm, a brand that offers healing and relaxation through massage therapy. With many of us housebound for the foreseeable future, The Calmm has taken its restoration practices online. In collaboration with yoga practitioner Tara D'cruz Noble, The Calmm is running online masterclasses. These one and half hour experiences will take you through a yoga class and then a guided acupressure sequence.
The Calmm describes the experience as:
"Self-care through a meeting of modalities - Yoga and guided acupressure to bring calm & release.
We’ll begin with quiet inward attention, listening to breath and being. A slow yoga flow will follow ~ to open into closed off places. We then move through a guided acupressure sequence to support our earth element and to complete the wellness DJ set, we find stillness in yoga Nidra.
A 90 minute offering to find internal balance."
It's a relaxing and totally appropriate Mother's Day treat - and definitely perfect for those of us locked away in isolation, unable to find traditional ways to celebrate. The sessions are available to book online on The Calmm's website and yes, there is a time available on Mother's Day Sunday May 10 if you're looking for an on-the-day experience. Just select "The Calmm at home" as your option in the booking form.
And if you are looking to send mum some flowers too, check out our guide to favourite florists across Australia. Orders are still open for Mother's Day deliveries, so you haven't missed the boat on beautiful bouquets just yet.
Happy Mother's Day, from RUSSH.
